For starters, the design has finally been revealed. “We were able to obtain a front view of the final packaging box for the new console,” he explains. For copyright reasons, a simple sketch made by him was published, in short, the PS5 Pro will apparently be closer to the PS5 Slim. The main change will be in the middle of the facade, with three black bars present instead of just one. Bilbil-kun then adds that the console seems “a little thicker” compared to the Slim version.

The last small change, perhaps not so minor, is the absence of a disc player. The informant admits that he is not yet sure about the presence of a version with this component, “we think it is a commercial choice by Sony to reduce costs to launch it on the market with a competitive price.” The presence of a disc player (optional for some), he points out. A strategy that is ultimately logical when we know that an external disc player, marketed by Sony at 119.99 euros, can be connected to the digital version of the PS5 Slim. Despite this reduced device, rumors still underline that the PS5 Pro will be priced much higher. According to the latest information revealed by Bilbil-kun, the announcement of the new console would be scheduled for the first half of September 2024, that is, in a little more than two weeks.
