Jannik Sinner returned to Centre Court to continue his Wimbledon quarter-final against Daniil Medvedev after a brief medical assessment.
Trailing 1-2 in the third set, Sinner had his pulse checked by the physio before leaving the court for further evaluation. He had earlier taken the first set 7-6(7), while Medvedev claimed the second 6-4.
Sinner, who has won his last five matches against Medvedev, including a comeback victory in the Australian Open final, is aiming to become the first Italian man to reach multiple Wimbledon semi-finals. The top seed, boasting a 42-3 record this year, lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals last year.
Medvedev, seeking his first major title since the 2021 US Open, has dropped three sets en route to the quarter-finals. He advanced past Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round after the Bulgarian retired in the first set. Medvedev leads Sinner 6-5 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series.
