Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are set to receive Android OS and security updates for seven years, aligning with the update policy for the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 during its latest Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, showcasing its newest foldable phones in both book and clamshell styles. These devices boast support for Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, Google’s Circle to Search feature, and the Gemini AI chatbot. They are powered by the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. Samsung also confirmed that both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive seven years of Android OS and security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899 (approximately Rs. 1,58,600) for the base model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Customers can opt for higher storage variants with 512GB and 1TB capacities, priced at $2,019 (approximately Rs. 1,68,600) and $2,259 (approximately Rs. 1,88,700), respectively.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes in a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration priced at $1,099 (approximately Rs. 91,800). Another variant with 512GB storage is available for $1,219 (approximately Rs. 1,01,800).

Samsung offers the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in Navy, Pink, and Silver Shadow color options, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is available in Blue, Mint, Silver Shadow, and Yellow. Customers purchasing from Samsung’s online store can also choose from exclusive Crafted Black and White colors for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Crafted Black, White, and Peach for the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Pre-orders are currently open for both models, with Samsung confirming availability from July 24th onwards.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 boasts dual-SIM capability (Nano or Nano+eSIM) and operates on Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 interface. It features the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform by Qualcomm, coupled with 12GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 6.3-inch HD+ (968×2376 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on its outer screen, offering a pixel density of 410ppi. Inside, it boasts a 7.6-inch QXGA+ (1856×2160 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display with a pixel density of 374ppi. Both screens include an adaptive refresh rate that adjusts between 1Hz and 120Hz.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a triple rear camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization (OIS), and an f/1.8 aperture. It also includes a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree field-of-view, along with a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. For selfies, there’s a 10-megapixel front camera on the cover display with an f/2.2 aperture, and an additional 4-megapixel camera under the inner screen with an f/2.8 aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes with up to 1TB of storage and supports connectivity options such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It features a range of sensors including an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, e-compass, hall sensor, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.

Powering the device is a 4,400mAh battery, which supports 25W wired charging with Samsung’s separate charger. It also includes Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare for charging compatible accessories.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 boasts an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, and features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. When folded, it measures 153.5×68.1×12.1mm, expands to 153.5×132.6×5.6mm when unfolded, and weighs 239g.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, it shares the same Android and One UI versions as its larger counterpart. It also supports dual-SIM connectivity and is equipped with the Snapdragon chipset, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen with a resolution of 720×748 pixels, offering a 60Hz refresh rate and 306ppi pixel density. Inside, it sports a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

Externally, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 boasts a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with dual pixel autofocus, OIS, and an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 123-degree field-of-view. The inner display features a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity features and sensors mirror those found in the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It is powered by a smaller 4,000mAh battery with identical charging capabilities as its larger counterpart. The handset includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and holds an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 measures 85.1×71.9×14.9mm when folded, expands to 165.1×71.9×6.9mm when unfolded, and weighs 187g.
