Play Goku in Black Myth Wukong! the Dragon Ball hero

Black Myth: Wukong is undoubtedly one of the event games of this month of August and is eagerly anticipated by many players. Upon release, it caused a sensation due to its spectacular graphics, its entertaining combat and its adaptation of one of the most famous Chinese myths of the Middle Kingdom: the Monkey King. In the JV test, you will be able to find out if Black Myth: Wukong has become a game that lives up to its legend.

As a reminder, here’s a brief summary of the myth: Sun Wukong, born from a rock struck by lightning, becomes the Monkey King after discovering a hidden cave. In search of immortality, he trained under the tutelage of Patriarch Subhuti and learned the 72 transformations and cloud flight. After defeating the demons and stealing treasure from the Dragon Kings, he defies Heaven and declares himself a “Great Saint Equal to Heaven.” Captured by the Buddha and imprisoned under a mountain for 500 years, he was eventually released to accompany the monk Tang Sanzang in his exploration of the West.

A return to basics for Goku

If you are at least a fan of Asian culture, you may have already noticed that Wukong shares quite a few similarities with one of the world’s most famous manga heroes: Dragon Ball’s Son Goku. And for good reason, the Saiyan was created from Wukong’s story. Needless to say, fans would do anything to see him in the game science software.

For your information, the literal translation of the Chinese Sun Wukong in Japanese is Son Goku! And yes, Akira Toriyama was largely inspired by the Chinese myth to create his hero. This strong connection between the mythical character and the manga icon inspired fans to integrate this connection into video games, making it possible to play as Goku in the title, paying tribute to his origins.

Everything was made possible thanks to Norskpl’s PC mod. In the quote shared by this Internet user, we see that Goku is perfectly integrated into Wukong’s spectacular graphics, while retaining his manga features as well as his bright colors. Here, no Kamehameha, but dynamic stick fights that could give developers ideas for an open world Dragon Ball game. However, in the comments, Internet users are disappointed that modders are trying to “spoil” a game so soon after its release. Others explain that the idea is good, but it would have been more interesting if it was the child version of Goku that was integrated.
