Angie Stone Dies due to Car crash at 61
The music world industry faced a tragic loss of Angie Stone. She was the neo-soul singer and a co-founder of a female hip-hop group named The Sequence. She was famous for his hits songs like “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” and “No More Rain”, Angie Stone tragically passed away in a car accident on March 1, 2025, at the age of 63.
The death of Stone was confirmed by her Manager Deborah Champagne, who said that she meet with a car accident, her car crashed with 18 wheeler on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was traveling to Baltimore for a scheduled performance at the CIAA basketball tournament.

Who Was Angie Stone?
She was born on December 18, 1961, in Columbia, South Carolina, and Angie Stone full name was Angie Laverne Brown. Her musical journey started in 1970s, she formed the hip-hop trio The Sequence alongside Cheryl “The Pearl” Cook and Gwendolyn “Blondy” Chisolm. And this group becomes one of the first female groups who signed to Sugar Hill Records. This sequence was disbanded in 1985.
Before her solo launch she worked with groups like Vertical Hold and her debut album Black Diamond (1999), featured the hit “No More Rain (In This Cloud),” which gets in top position in the R&B charts.
Stone was nominated for 3 times Grammy Award where she recognized for Best R&B Performance and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. With all this Stone was also an actress she als worked in some films like The Hot Chick, The Fighting Temptations, and Ride Along. She also appeared on reality TV shows like VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and R&B Divas: Atlanta
Just a week before her death she was so excited for her future projects which includes films, television and new music. Her final performance took place at the 2025 Grand Marshal’s Ball during the Mobile Mardi Gras Association event.
Her family, including her daughter Ladi Diamond, son Michael, and grandchildren, have yet to announce memorial services. Fans around the world continue to celebrate her music and legacy.
